Korean Glass Skin or Healthy Glow? Which One is the Real Magic?

Nowadays, our idea of beautiful skin is often associated with the flawless “Korean Glass Skin.” To achieve this, we tend to invest heavily in skincare. But can our skin truly become as flawless as Koreans’?

One key factor to remember is that skincare is not solely dependent on cosmetics; genetic structure plays a crucial role. Koreans naturally have smooth, poreless skin due to their genetics. On the other hand, the skin structure of people in Bangladesh is different. So, does that mean Korean products won’t give us glass skin?

Not exactly. While our skin might not look identical to Korean skin, using the right products can significantly improve skin texture and brightness. Instead of chasing glass skin, let’s focus on achieving a healthy glow with a practical Korean skincare routine using regular skincare products.

Double Cleansing

Flawless skin starts with double cleansing. Pollution and long hours of sunscreen use can clog pores, leading to acne. To prevent this, first cleanse your face with micellar oil or water, followed by a suitable face wash.

Exfoliation

Unclogged pores allow skincare products to absorb better and work more effectively. Choose an exfoliation method that suits your skin and use it 1-2 times a week.

Toner

While toners might seem overhyped, their benefits cannot be ignored. After cleansing, toner helps maintain the skin’s pH balance and tightens pores, locking in moisture and preventing dryness.

Essence

A must-have in Korean skincare, essence is a water-based product that prevents excessive moisture loss, keeping the skin hydrated. This helps achieve a smooth texture and even skin tone, resulting in a healthy glow.

Serum

Serums address specific skin concerns like acne, enlarged pores, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation. They contain potent active ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and salicylic acid, so they should be used in controlled amounts.

Moisturizer – A Must-Have

After layering multiple products, is moisturizer still necessary? Yes! Moisturizer helps seal in all the previous steps and deeply hydrates the skin, keeping it healthy and glowing.

Sheet Mask

Korean beauty trends popularized sheet masks as instant hydrators. Using them 1-2 times a week can make your skin soft and refreshed. For an extra cooling effect in summer, refrigerate the sheet mask before use—it helps minimize pores and rejuvenate the skin.

Using every Korean skincare product won’t automatically give you glass skin. Different skin types react differently, and not all products suit everyone. Instead of chasing a “flawless” look, focus on healthy, radiant skin. A proper routine tailored to your needs will help maintain your skin’s natural glow and well-being.
